Why is this blog here?

You need to EAT to LIVE

β€” Somebody wise

It’s my first year in college and first semester just ended a week ago. Through the semester, I realized how difficult it was just to get food from the hostel. I really had a hard time dealing with the problem during the weekends – thinking about what n where to eat. My friends and I would definitely find an excuse to Grab to a mall or any restaurants to get our meals. Sometimes we call delivery simply because they serve better food or we need some new taste. Cafeteria food is great but imagine eating the same food over and over again 😒 Especially when you study far from home (Melaka), the good food back there was what I missed a lot from time to time.

I was wondering the other day if I could do something out of my semester break and here it is: a food blog on things I eat or food I prepare surviving college or mainly just to survive.

[@home/in Melaka/basically anywhere I go]

Well, I just hope this blog will help anyone out there to SURVIVE!

Chinese Food @ Bukit Beruang, Melaka

Just realized how long it’s been since I actually had proper food. I couldn’t bother to put up nice pictures of food cause I was just really lazy. With all these assignments and quizzes coming up, πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯. It’s nice to actually have a friend who can drive around. So yeah, proper food here I come.

Chinese food at this restaurant wasn’t too bad but I just hoped the curry had more fish than it actually had because it’s call fish curry for A reason. Other dishes were fine. But there was another shop opposite which serves food that suits my appetite more so I guess it’s the place I’ll rather go another time and not this one.

K. Bye.

This might be the least appetizing picture of all that I’ve posted. But honestly, it’s not as bad as it looks. Since Semester 1, I’ve been having a huge amount of oat and milo supply that I’ve always been too lazy to use. Since I’ve been thinking of starting a business to earn some extra cash and save up for my further studies, I’ve have to learn to save and not waste food. Well, it’s just an excuse I needed so I would actually try and finish these disgusting organic food.

So what I did was:

  1. Add a few tablespoons of brown rice powder.
  2. Add a few tablespoons of oat.
  3. Add a few tablespoons of milo.
  4. Add hot water.
  5. Add a few tablespoons of cereal.
  6. Enjoy your food :).

I know that it’s supposed to be some breakfast meal but why am I eating eat for dinner? Instant noodles kinda scares me at times so I decided to try out my new recipe. Little did I know, it turned out very well. So, I suggest that you all should try making it in your hostel or at home. Tip: Consume when hot.

P.S. If you don’t have brown rice powder, it’s fine. You can even eat it with berries or bananas!

Loaded Go Bowl @ KFC, Melaka Shopping Centre, Lebuh Ayer Keroh, 75450, Melaka

When you have limited cash and the ATM does not have RM 10 for you to withdraw but you still want to eat KFC, here’s the go to meal. LOADED GO BOWL. It’s basically one of the cheapest meal you can find in KFC that actually tastes good as well. Anything that comes with KFC cheese sauce will be a YES for me :). Any idea how they got the cheese sauce? — I need to know. THX.

It’s my first time too at Aeon Ayer Keroh and it’s surprising to see that the clothes there were extremely cheap. I almost went into my wallet and took out cash to get a T-shirt but I brought a lot from home that I haven’t had a chance to wear πŸ˜…. Tip: If you don’t want to spend extra on getting clothes just bring your whole closet here so you would think twice when spending for clothing.

Buttermilk Fish @ Limong Cafe, 692J-1,Taman Megah, Jalan Perak, Taman Bukit Melaka, 75450 Melaka Buttermilk Fish @ Limong Cafe,

It’s my first time visiting the shop itself although I’ve been eating their food for over 10 times. There’s this app/website here in Melaka that I will always use just to get this meal if I’m craving for buttermilk food. But finally I got a chance to actually visit the cafe on 10.08.2019. Believe it or not I walked from MMMC Female Hostel to Emerald Park for an hour and this was my first meal there! I think students at MMU should be grateful that they could get food at a walking distance. When you look back at students here in MMMC, I’m really sad that there isn’t a lot of choices around.

Fish n Chips @ The Daily Fix, Jonker Street Melaka

It’s the first week of Sem 2 and we’re super excited to spend all our time on going out because assignments are soon going to chase us out of our minds. So, that’s how we ended up in The Daily Fix, eating some Western food that is reasonably priced but slightly over the budget meter. I would say that the food was savoury but it could have been better 😬☺️. Anyways, spending once in a while here in Melaka is fine. Food is not the problem. TRANSPORT is πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Sometimes the Grab literally just cost more than our meals which makes me really sadd because it’s really hard to get food here in the hostel on the weekends 😞😞. On the bright side, we got to meet Tun M!

Dataran Pahlawan @ Melaka

P. S. It would have been nice if I am able to cook most of the days in the hostel. But ….. it has this really bad problem which BUGS me and made me scared to actually eat in the room.

KRAFT Mac n Cheese @ MMMC Female Hostel

Another day in the hostel thinking about what to have for lunch. If you’re broke like me, then this is the right blog for you. When I came back from Sarawak, I happened to go grocery shopping at the airport’s grocer and turns out many things there were really cheap. So I stocked up my room with these few packets of KRAFT Mac n Cheese Dinner. At least having these food will help me save up and not spend too much on food.

Continue reading if you want to know how I made my meal possible πŸ˜….

Ingredients: KRAFT Mac n Cheese, Milk, Butter or Oil, Pepper and Some patience (All of these @ favourable amount)

I only have a KETTLE so that was what I used!!

  1. Start boiling water in the kettle.
  2. When the water boils, add the elbow macaronis into the kettle and keep the water boiling. (Keep pressing the button)
  3. Stir the macaronis continuously and check from time to see if it’s ready.
  4. When it is cooked, drain the pasta and leave it in the kettle.
  5. Add some milk (as long as you think it’s enough) and start stirring.
  6. When you see tiny bubbles forming let it settle for a while and then switch off your kettle.
  7. Pour the macaronis into a bowl and here comes the cheese powder.
  8. Add the cheese powder immediately and mix well while it’s still hot.
  9. Add pepper and oil. Add more milk if it’s too dry.
  10. ENJOY!

While doing this I realized how convenient a kettle is to be used to make meals like these. It wasn’t a lot of work so I suggest you all to try it in your hostel or at home when you cannot come up with anything to eat. Disclaimer: You might end up messing your room if you’re not careful enough.

Chilli Pan Mee @ Face to Face Noodle House 青对青 (Kota Laksamana, Melaka)

30.07.2019

It’s PUBLIC holiday all around Malaysia and it’s sad to say that any food source available in the hostel were all closed. So we decided to head out and have lunch at my favourite pan mee place @ Face To Face Noodle House 青对青 (Kota Laksamana, Melaka). It might or might not be the best pan mee place but I really like the food there especially the Chilli Pan Mee. Well, it’s a place where I would frequently visit when I crave for pan mee or simply just because I could never decide on anything to eat. And the best thing is they serve Sarawakian food too!

If you happen to be studying or travelling in Melaka and have no idea what to eat, I would suggest you getting there and grab some Chilli Pan Mee
